Trust score
A Trust Score is a new and unique metric to assess the trustworthiness of a platform. Unlike existing metrics such as Mean Trust Score and Reputation Score, it takes into account more than one parameter to provide an accurate value. The aim is to reduce the decision making time and increase the accuracy.
In order to determine the Trust Score of a server platform, it is first evaluated using the Trustability Co-efficient of Variation. This co-efficient is inversely proportional to the trustworthiness of the platform.
Another mechanism is Trust Ranking. It provides a faster response than the traditional Trust Scoring system. Moreover, the Trustability Co-efficient of Variation helps to provide rank to the server platform.
In this model, the Mobile Agent system performs a linear search in the Trust Lookup Table to obtain the Trust Score of each server platform. Based on the results, the Mobile Agent chooses the next platform for migration.
Trust ranking system is tested in a cloud environment. The results show that it is 12.5% better than the traditional Trust Scoring system.
The resulting trust score is a function of five parameters. These include the Trustability Co-efficient of Variation, the number of transactions, the platform consistency, the average turn-around time and the response time. Besides, the mean trust score also adds to the decision making overhead.
