Video games published by Netflix launched a few days ago on Android, are finally available on iOS. But, be careful, the procedure to follow to access it is a bit complicated.
At the beginning of November, Netflix launched its gaming offer, articulated, for the moment, around five games that subscribers to the SVOD platform can access at no extra cost. Initially, the multinational offered these video game experiences to Android users. The question then arose of availability on iPhone and iPad – in view of the strict rules imposed by Apple. Good news: Netflix games are already available on iOS – Bloomberg spotted on November 9.
However, at the time of this writing, there is no video games section in the Netflix app – which makes it difficult to access the selection. To find the games, you have to find them one by one in the App Store. Here is how to do it.
WHAT GAMES ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH ITS NETFLIX SUBSCRIPTION ON IPHONE AND IPAD?
The selection of Netflix Gaming video games on IOS is the same as on Android:
- Stranger Things: 1984
- Stranger Things 3: The Game
- Shooting Hoops
- Teeter (Up)
- Card blast
Note that a sixth game has been made official: it is the musical game Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story (from Riot Forge). It will cost € 8.99 on Steam but will be ” free ” via Netflix (but you will need to be a subscriber or subscriber).
HOW TO ACCESS NETFLIX GAMES ON MY IPHONE OR IPAD?
In the absence of a gaming category directly integrated into the Netflix application, you have to go through a manual search in the App Store. This amounts to saying: know the name of the games.
On this subject, there is a little trick to know: when you are on the page of one of the games, click on the developer’s file ( Netflix, Inc. here) to access all of its applications, and therefore see all the games. games in the same place. It is located at the bottom of the description.
Obviously, to be able to play, you must be a subscriber.
Once you’ve downloaded a game (you can do so without a subscription), you’ll need to link an active Netflix account.
If this is not the case, you will be able to subscribe directly on your iPhone or iPad thanks to Apple’s payment system – which, paradoxically, does not allow the Netflix application itself (in order to avoid 30% of commissions taken by the Cupertino company, at the origin of the big lawsuit with Epic Games ).
We can always hope that a Video Games category will eventually arrive in the Netflix app – even if it takes the form of a sum of links to the App Store. In terms of ergonomics, the user would necessarily gain.
