Like Wizardry, there’s no telling where your character will end up. Nevertheless, they’ll be accompanied by a slew of dynamic NPCs, which keeps things fresh.
While you’re building your character, you can choose from a number of race and class options. Among them are the Monk, the Rogue, the Half-Orc and the Warrior.
The Bard’s Tale isn’t for everybody. Some players may find it overly simplistic. However, it’s a good homage to the early games of its time, while offering new features and upgrades to keep people coming back for more.
Similarities with other games
